The world as Micah knew it is gone.
His island homeland lies consumed by a mysterious fog, known simply as the Mist, that takes the lives of its citizens randomly and without reason. Cut off within its walls, the village of Fairhollow relies on Micah and its surviving soldiers to stave off the fog’s nightmarish monsters who stalk the land.
That is until a strange merchant arrives with an ominous chest. When its contents draw the Mist to the village and the merchant is gravely injured, it falls to Micah to carry the dangerous package on a journey through Karthmoor’s Mist-filled wilds to save Fairhollow from destruction. Yet even this perilous delivery leads only to another deadly path. Micah must learn to work with an old enemy as they race against an order of cruel mages searching for something that could threaten the entire world, even as their knowledge could be the only key to understanding his family’s buried legacy.
Crossing the breadth of Karthmoor, Micah faces abominable horrors and twisted riddles as he searches for answers to a growing web of deceit, plotting factions, and forgotten secrets. Behind it all lurks the mages’ dark proclamation promising to alter Micah’s life forever as a simple question hounds his every step:
